About me

mezzo-soprano and song writer, Eva Rainforth has sung with The Pittsburgh Symphony, The River City Brass Band, The Pittsburgh Concert Chorale, The Mendelssohn Choir, and currently sings with The Pittsburgh Camerata, and The Pittsburgh Opera Chorus. 
Regional Credits: The Papermill Playhouse, The NY Gilbert and Sullivan Players, Florida Studio Theatre, The New England Lyric Opera, The Paperbag Players, and City Center, NYC. 
Original work: An art song cycle “Modern American Art Songs…w/a twist” (‘a series of funny, and engaging art songs about life’ -Pgh Trib.); “Earworms” (a collection of adult ‘nonsense’ songs), and “Out of Control” (CD created during Covid) both found on Bandcamp. In 2018, she composed music to Caryl Churchill’s lyrics in ‘Vinegar Tom’ produced at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, and most recently wrote the music to the lyrics in ’12 Ophelias – a play with broken songs’ by Caridad Svich, produced at The Pittsburgh Playhouse, March 2025.
Eva has a vocal performance degree from Fredonia State University. Her post graduate work continued at Shenandoah University and at Baldwin Wallace University where she studied vocal pedagogy & voice science. Eva has the highest level of certification in Somatic Voicework(tm), The LoVetri Method, and currently teaches voice in the conservatory at Point Park University.
